Ventilate your home for a healthy interior

Humidity in the home can quickly become a problem if ventilation is inadequate.

Condensation on windows, musty smells, black stains on walls… all signs that the air isn’t circulating properly.

Why is ventilation essential?

Every day, we naturally produce water vapour in our homes: when cooking, showering, cleaning or even breathing!
If this vapor can’t escape, it accumulates in the air, condenses on cold surfaces and promotes mold growth.

How can you limit humidity in your home?

Here are a few simple gestures to adopt on a daily basis:

Ventilate efficiently :

  • Open windows for at least 10 to 15 minutes a day, even in winter.
  • Air a room before prolonged occupancy (e.g. bedroom before bedtime).
  • Evacuate steam after a shower or bath by opening the window.

In the kitchen:

  • Put a lid on pots and pans or use an extractor hood to prevent steam build-up.

Other useful gestures :

  • Hang laundry outside or in a well-ventilated room.
  • Do not block air inlets (ventilation grilles, ventilators, etc.).
  • Regularly check that ventilation systems are working properly.

Regular maintenance = a healthy home

A well-ventilated home is one where the air is renewed, humidity is controlled, and your comfort is improved.

Don’t forget: prevention is always easier (and cheaper) than mold treatment!
